Holi Cow Cooking School
Yudhika started hosting live demonstrations at food shows and consumer expos in 2007. Her first demo on live television was also in 2007 when she was asked to prepare meals on SABC’s ‘3 Talk with Noeleen’. She loved teaching and showing her audience how to prepare the meals and how to use the various spices to create their very own food magic. Yudhika has hosted cooking classes at the Miele Kitchen, Delawood’s Cooking School and at the Angela Day Kitchen. At the Holi Cow, she continues to share her food philosophy and her easy-peasy recipes that are full of flavour but get you in and out the kitchen in a flash. The classes focus on South East Asian food but can also dishes from the Mediterranean, Morocco and even good old fashioned South African ones.
The minimum group is 12 guests and up to 30 guests can be accommodated. Meals are prepared in groups of 2 – 3. The cooking school can be hired out for private functions and corporate team builds and all classes are hosted by Yudhika. The class is followed by a sit down feast consisting of a lamb, chicken, seafood and vegetarian dish, rotis and salads and a dessert. Cooking classes can be structured around a client’s favourite dishes and tailor made to suit all requirements.
The most popular class running is the Curry 101 class which takes the guests through the basic curry making techniques and features Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Korma, Coconut Prawn Curry and a Chickpea Curry. There is also a hands on roti making demonstration.
